Links

Right now, I have links to good search tools, DVD Resources, Movie Resources, and Computer Game Resources.

Information Resources
Google is probably the only search engine you'll ever need, but try this page sometime: Nueva Library Help.

About is the place to go if you want to know everything about almost any topic.

Deja, or GoogleGroups, is also an often overlooked place for info.

DVD's
DVD Talk is one of the best sites to go to find out information about DVD's and how to make Columbia House your own, special bitch. Check out their forums! Whatever your question, a team of experts will immediate answer it. Also searching their forums will often reveal that your newbie question has already been asked.

IGN's DVD section is a great resource for info about new dvd's. Go here for information about easter eggs, special features, and extreme fanboy action. I figure they'll turn into a pay site within six months (then I'll take them off the list).

DVD Review tends to have the latest news in the DVD world. They have good reviews, more often focused on the movie than on the disk. Go here for release information and search their Film Vault for info about damn near every disk ever made.

Bargain Flix is the place to go to for the best DVD deals and online coupons. They also have a pretty good DVD price search engine.

DVD Price Search sometimes yields different results from Bargain Flix.

Cinema
The Internet Movie Database is the only place to go for complete information about almost every movie ever made. Sadly, they no longer have Leonard Maltin's capsule reviews, but they still have extensive trivia, quotes, and cast lists, as well as breaking news.

Film Threat has the latest news about the indie scene and wonderful columns.

Ebert's portion of the Chicago Sun-Times, contains current movie reviews, his incredible Answer Man column, his essays on Great Films, and a searchable review archive back to 1985. Search for his Zero Star reviews, they are hilarious.

Rotten Tomatoes rates films according to how they were reviewed by film critics. They also provide links to dozens of reviews for each movie. You just have to deal with annoying ads.

Computer Games
Mobygames is the IMDB of the computer game world. In addition to pc games, they also cover several different platforms. I sometimes review games here.

GameSpot is largely good, but having recently cut their ftp service and moving towards pay only has diminished their usefulness. Still this is a great place to go for current news and reviews.

IGN's PC games section has a decent interface, but I think they too are six months away from going to pay only. Pretty good reviews and news, they also have a good letters column.

Gamefaqs is a great site to go for walkthroughs, hints, strategy guides, etc.
